OK, I followed all the directions --even made sure I had the first line and the empty one after, and put StrongholdLegends.exe in upper case. Other than that the notepad looked just like Rytawi's (above). When I double-clicked the notepad file I had just created (having saved it as a.reg file) it was accepted as a registry entry without incident. However when I tried to install the Bonus map setup.exe file it went as far as the Setup Wizard and then stopped 'cause it said I had to install Stronghold Legends first. So (of course) I rebooted, thinking that would make the new registry line work. So what's the next trick?

There seems to have been no problem with executing the registry edit -- did it at least 3 times and always got the note that the registry changes have been accepted; my old rig runs Vista, but that's supposed to be compatable with the regedit that was used. Maybe the file containing the registry change has to be somewhere specifically? Mine still resides in my documents folder.
